Turn up the volume on this one

The verbal volume, that is:

Informant denies buying drugs at elderly Atlantan's home
The informant also told investigators from the Atlanta police internal affairs bureau that he was told to lie about the matter, the chief said.

And gun control advocates say only cops should have guns. Cops like these, huh? Or do you mean the cops who were looting while New Orleans drowned?

Meanwhile, the seven narcotics officers and a sergeant were put on administrative leave with pay, and the department is reviewing its use of "no-knock" raids after the shootout, he said. The warrants are common in narcotics cases when officers fear suspects may try to dispose of drugs or evidence in the time it takes authorities to gain access to the home.

There's a big part of me who feels absolutely no pity for drug dealers who have their crack havens practically leveled when the local SWAT team comes a no-knockin'.

The rest of me is distressed at the thought of what would happen if anyone broke down the door of my home in the middle of the night. Doing that without knocking is an invitation to sit down to a nice, piping-hot lead sandwich. Hold the mayo. I understand the advantage that no-knock warrants give to the cops, but this is a pretty good example of how that can get messy when you live in an armed society and you go no-knockin' on the wrong door.

Just food for thought.

FINALLY!!

What are you?

Are you a Democrat, Republican or Southerner?

Here is a little test that will help you decide. The answer can be found by posing the following question:

You're walking down a deserted street with your wife and two small children. Suddenly, an Islamic Terrorist with a huge knife comes around the corner, locks eyes with you, screams obscenities, praises Allah, raises the knife, and charges at you. You are carrying a Glock .40, and you are an expert shot. You have mere seconds before he reaches you and your family. What do you do?

Democrat's Answer: Well, that's not enough information to answer the question! Does the man look poor or oppressed? Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack? Could we run away? What does my wife think? What about the kids? Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand? What does the law say about this situation? Does the Glock have appropriate safety built into it? Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message does this send to society and to my children? Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me? Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me? If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family get away while he was stabbing me? Should I call 9-1-1? Why is this street so deserted? We need to raise taxes, have paint and weed day and make this a happier, healthier street that would discourage such behavior. This is all so confusing! I need to debate this with some friends for few days and try to come to a consensus.

Republican's Answer: BANG!

Southerner's Answer: BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click..... (Sounds of reloading) BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! Click... Daughter: "Nice grouping, Daddy! Were those the Winchester Silver Tips or Hollow Points?" Son: "Can I shoot the next one!" Wife: "You ain't taking that to the Taxidermist!"

I'm a mix: a Southern Republican. My response would have been the same as the Southerner, but I carry a Para Ordinance. In .45 ACP. And mine holds 15 rounds.

Hat Tip to the Chocolate Shotgun for that one...

Advance

I did my part on this jolly 'ol National Ammo Day. That's a hundred rounds each of .45 ACP, 9MM, .22 and .223.

I hope that gives Speaker Pelosi a splitting headache.

The guy at the counter at Coal Creek Armory said I was only the second guy to redeem my 10% discount, courtesy of Tam. What's up with that?

Anyway, I don't actually have the cash for all that ammo. I just put it on the credit card & considered it an advance on the Christmas cash I hope to get.

It's National Ammo Day/Week 2006!!

Read up on the background of this most excellent tradition.

Get out & buy a hundred rounds. Or a thousand. Whatever you can afford. Any caliber.

Give Diane Feinstein, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton a migrane ....... while you still can.

Coming way too soon...

Democratic control of Congress, in three .... two .... one ....

We'll abandon Iraq, which will promptly implode and become the next Afghanistan. Not that anyone seems to care.

Did I say "abandon"? Sorry. I meant we'll "redeploy". My bad.

Then comes the gun control.

You know - for the children.

I dread this.

Stay tuned...
